Collections

The Texas Maritime Museum is a collecting institution preserving artifacts, documents, photographs, and books which further illuminate Texas’ maritime history.  Through artifact acquisition and research, we are able to update and enhance both permanent and temporary exhibits and assist our patrons and visitors with research requests.

If you have an object(s) you would like to loan or donate to the Texas Maritime Museum, please contact Curator, Justin Parkoff, to see if it meets the criteria to be accepted into the Texas Maritime Museum’s permanent collection.

The Texas Maritime Museum does not acquire artifacts through purchasing at this time nor do we provide appraisals on objects.
The Museum has a significant collection of books in our library which focus on a variety of maritime topics. Library materials are available to the public during the normal hours of the museum.

The Library is currently a research only library and books are not available for check-out. Looking for a specific book or need resources on a maritime topic? Contact Curator, Justin Parkoff, for assistance.
