"It's the 21st century, but the gods of Mount Olympus and assorted monsters have walked out of the pages of high school student Percy Jackson's Greek mythology texts and into his life. And they're not happy: Zeus' lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect. Even more troubling is the sudden disappearance of Percy's mother. As Percy finds himself caught between angry and battling gods, he and his friends embark on a cross-country adventure to catch the true lightning thief, save Percy's mom, and unravel a mystery more powerful than the gods themselves." Rockport, Texas – The 2010 Inductees to the Perry R. Bass Memorial Sportsfishing Wall of Fame at the Texas Maritime Museum are James Fox, Danny Adams, Sr., and Howard “Brownie” Brown (posthumously). The Wall of Fame began in 2007, and honors the legacy of Mr. Perry R. Bass by seeking out individuals who have been integral in supporting sportsfishing on the Texas gulf coast. These individuals were selected by ballot distributed to former inductees from a list of several deserving nominees compiled by the nominating committee.
Induction ceremonies will occur at 12 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2010 in the main gallery of the Texas Maritime Museum. Admission is FREE for this special event, a part of the Texas Maritime Museum’s Brown Bag Lecture Series sponsored by Linda Valdez and Lydia Powell.
James Fox is a Founding Member and Past President of the Aransas Bay Chapter of Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) and a lifelong Coastal Bend angler. Danny Adams, Sr. has been a fishing and hunting guide in the area for many years, and passed down his knowledge to two of his sons who are fishing guides as well as his grandchildren. Howard Brown was a longtime guide and mentor to several guides through the years, but is best known as President George H.W. Bush’s personal guide.
Don’t miss this important event! Come out and show your appreciation for these individuals who have embraced one of the “Charms of the Texas Coast!”
