The Texas Maritime Museum Annual Belle Ball

MUSEUM GALA TRUMPETS THE MAGIC OF THE HOLIDAYS

On Friday evening, December 4, 2009, the 14th Annual Belle Ball will serve as a spirited prelude to the holiday season.  Enhanced by the event’s “Fire & Ice” theme, the ballroom of the Rockport Country Club will be brimming with Christmas splendor for the elegant black-tie gala benefiting the Texas Maritime Museum.

This year’s affair salutes a beloved patron, Hugh Jamieson, for his prominent role in successful endeavors at the Maritime Museum from 1991 to present day.  Mr. Jamieson is a past and current member of the Board of Trustees and has volunteered as the Assistant Curator for 18 years.  The Museum’s exhibitions bear his signature throughout, from the Ship’s Bridge to the dock in the Allure of Fishing.

Patrons will be welcomed with Icy Blue Martinis and delectable hors d’oeuvres, with ballet dancers from the Rockport Nutcracker performing prior to an elegant seated dinner.      The evening will reach a crescendo when popular entertainers Jayar and His Band take center stage to provide toe-tapping music for dancing.  Adding emphasis to the air of excitement, a Big Board and Silent Auction will feature tempting treasures such as original artwork, cooking classes and glamorous trips for travel buffs.  A unique raffle prize, “Around Town in 2010” features 2 tickets to an array of Rockport festivals, patron parties and lively fundraising events, in support of the community.

Underwriter tables for 10 people may be purchased for $2,500, and reserved tables for
